Why I Built This
In 2024, I needed to vectorize a batch of images for a client project. I wanted a straightforward way to upload common raster formats, inspect an automatic trace, and download SVG output without setting up a desktop tracing workflow.
I built a browser interface around an automated vectorization pipeline and added account, credit, preview, and download flows. The trace approximates visible shapes and colors with SVG paths; results depend on the source image and should be reviewed before print, cutting, manufacturing, or other production use.
Today, people use FreeSVGConverter for logo, illustration, web, craft, and design workflows. I continue to maintain the product and update its supported formats, guidance, and processing workflow as the service develops.
