EMF and WMF to SVG: Export and Tracing Guide

FreeSVGConverter cannot read EMF or WMF. Open the file in Inkscape or the original program and save as SVG if supported to retain vector paths. Otherwise, export PNG and trace it in the free local workspace at /image-tracing. Tracing approximates the image and may change detail.

Free local tracing needs no account. AI tools use credits and upload files for processing.

Choose the workflow that suits your file.
  1. 01

    Open your file

PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, or BMP up to 10 MB in the free workspace (the AI converter takes PNG, JPG, WebP, or AVIF). Existing SVGs can be edited in the free workspace.

  2. 02

    Trace and inspect

Preview the shapes and colors. Clear logos and flat artwork usually trace more predictably than photos.

  3. 03

    Make it yours

Edit the SVG, compare optional optimization, and download your result.

Working with your SVG

Infinite Scalability

SVG paths can be resized without introducing raster pixelation. The converted result is a vector interpretation of the source image.

Widely Supported Format

SVG files work in modern browsers and can be opened in widely used vector design tools. File size varies with image complexity.

Local Image Tracing

The converter traces visible shapes and colors into vector paths. Results vary with source quality, contrast, and complexity.

Online Conversion

Open a supported image up to 10 MB in the free local workspace. Files stay on your device. Trace, review, and export SVG or PNG.

Browser-Compatible Output

SVG is supported by modern browsers and can be embedded, linked, or styled in many web workflows.

Fully Editable

SVG files can be easily modified with design software or code, unlike fixed raster formats.
