Preparing Existing Illustration Files as SVG

FreeSVGConverter is a general image tracer and SVG editor. It has no medical validation features and does not establish anatomical accuracy, measurement fidelity, or compliance with a journal's submission requirements.

Keep the reviewed source

If an illustration already exists as vectors, export from that source. Tracing a raster copy approximates visible shapes and can change small labels, boundaries, proportions, or details. Keep the original and compare any derivative with it.

Use the destination publisher's instructions to determine accepted file formats, dimensions, color handling, and labeling. Have the appropriate subject expert review the illustration. A sharp-looking SVG is not evidence of scientific accuracy.
